Astralis adds Lucky to CS:GO roster
Astralis signed AWPer Philip “Lucky” Ewald of Denmark to their Counter-Strike: Global Offensive roster on Monday.
When it comes to dominance in CSGO, Astralis stand above the rest, but they have wobbled in recent months. The iconic roster has undergone a few changes and now they are injecting some fresh blood by adding 18-year-old Lucky to their starting roster.
Lucky, who previously competed with Tricked Esport, expressed his happiness with joining the Danish organization.
“I have really enjoyed my time in Tricked and I have a lot to thank them for,” the 18-year-old Lucky said in a statement. “When Astralis comes knocking, everything changes, though. It’s without a doubt one of the most professional organizations and I already feel welcome and part of the family.”
Astralis’ director of sports Kasper Hvidt was complimentary toward Lucky in return.
“If you look at (Lucky’s) stats, it’s not a mystery why so many teams have been watching him,” Hvidt said. “His technique and game sense will contribute to the team and create new room for the other players.”
With BLAST Premier: Fall on the horizon, Lucky and the team will be gearing up to secure their spot in the Blast World Finals.
Astralis' extended roster looks as follows:
- Andreas "Xyp9x" Højsleth
- Peter "dupreeh" Rasmussen
- Lukas "gla1ve" Rossander
- Emil "Magisk" Reif
- Lucas "Bubzkji" Andersen
- Philip "Lucky" Ewald
- Danny "zonic" Sørensen (coach)
