Hjarnan will play for EXCEL in the second split of LEC 2019
Ex-G2 eSports, Petter "Hjarnan" Freyschuss is back and will defend the shirt of EXCEL Esports in the second split of the European championship.
The player has already passed H2K Gaming, Team Vitallity, ROCCAT and in 2018 played for G2 Esports, where he had the best results. Alongside the ninjas, Hjarnan managed to win the European runner-up in the first split of 2018, and to represent Europe in that year's World Cup, surprised the world by winning the Royal Never Give Up in the quarter-finals, competition. G2 ended up being eliminated in the semifinal by Invictus Gaming, which later became world champion.
The player made a good campaign for the G2 and was known to be a great player of Heimerdinger in the bot lane, forcing most of the teams to ban the champion. After the end of the World Cup, rumors have already surfaced about Perkz, who until then was mid laner of the team, start playing in the bot lane, while Caps, ex-Fnatic, would assume the middle position. The rumors were fulfilled, causing Hjarnan and Wadid, then G2 support, to leave the team.
"I'm very excited to be back to the LEC and to help Excel improve on its first season at the top level in Europe. Being back with Kasing is great too, and I can not wait to play as soon as possible." - said the player in the organization's publication.
Despite not having played the LEC, the shooter did not stand still in this split. He played for AD Hoc in some championships such as the Summoner's Inn League, Premier Tour, ESL Meisterschaft.
At the moment EXVEL has three shooters in its line-up, being Nihat "Innaxe" Dzhelal Aliev, Jesper "Jeskla" Klarin Strömberg and Hjarnan himself. The team is one of the newcomers to the LEC and finished ninth in this split with five wins and 13 losses.
