Warzone leak claims new ‘Red Door’ fast travel system coming to Verdansk ’84

A Call of Duty: Warzone survey has reportedly revealed that a new fast travel system is coming to Verdansk ’84, where players travel through ‘Red Doors’ throughout the map in Season 3.

We’re now well into Warzone Season 3, and players are becoming used to the new Verdansk ’84 map. Luckily, game-breaking bugs have been fixed, with players no longer able to glitch under the map and the “Hunt for Adler” event progress tracking.

Following this major overhaul to Warzone’s map, Activision reportedly sent out a survey on April 28 asking players which parts of Verdansk ’84 they most enjoy. Choices included: lighting changes, updated POIs, and also mentioned a new fast travel system that isn’t in the game yet.

The top option in this section listed “The Red Doors (new fast travel system),” which currently isn’t in the game, but could arrive later.

Warzone players were first treated to a fast travel system in Modern Warfare Season 6 with the Subway system. The doors to the Subway stations opened up and players could use the underground train to fast travel around the map.

With Warzone players traveling back in time to the 1980s, this Subway system hasn’t been built yet, so there is no fast travel system as of the start of Season 3, but it seems the Red Doors will be taking its place.

Red Doors have been a theme throughout Black Ops Cold War, with the game’s internal alpha codenamed ‘The Red Door,’ it being a recurring theme of the campaign, and one appearing in the Verdansk ’84 cutscene.

The Red Doors appear to be connected to Cold War’s campaign, so they would further the integrate Cold War and Warzone’s story, which has now fully overlapped.

There’s no word on how this fast travel system will work, but we can hazard a guess they’ll be connected in a similar way to the Subway stops.

It’s possible this system was designed for the launch of Season 3 and Verdansk ’84 but was scrapped ahead of launch – so it’s worth taking this news with a pinch of salt.

However, with Black Ops Cold War and Warzone set to release Season 3 Reloaded as the mid-season update, in which new weapons, Operators, and multiplayer maps arrive, it’s possible the Red Door fast travel system will arrive then. Or, it could arrive in a later season in a similar vein to the Subway stations opening up.
